Dear Otsego Library Patrons,
I am so thrilled to be joining the Otsego District Library as the new Library Director! I have been warmly welcomed in my first month here as Director. I am excited to be a part of a supportive community and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration within the community.
I am the former Library Director of the Leighton Township Library in Moline, Michigan. While I was there, I increased circulation through purchasing popular items and marketing the collection, wrote a Robert C. Reinhardt Grant that won the library $25,000 for new technology, opened the first Village Post Office inside of a library in the entire United States, painted a large 30x15 foot wall-to-wall mural in the children’s room and refurbished the entire children’s area with new furniture, and new early literacy toys and activities. Promoting early literacy is near-and-dear to my heart as I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Calvin College. I earned my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science last year from Wayne State University. My life motto has been “Brighten the Corner Where You Are.” I am hoping to bring some bright ideas to this library. It is already a great library and I want to continue to make it shine!
I am very thankful and very excited to be at the Otsego District Library!
Looking forward to meeting you soon,
