Beginning a New Chapter Capital Campaign

"Our Community, Our Future"
When a community grows, so must its community centers. The Otsego Public Library stands as a true center of local activity and a valuable resource for the educational, cultural and informational needs of the Otsego community. The library has reached a crucial point in its history, as leadership and staff realize that current space has been pushed well beyond capacity and can no longer accommodate the needs of the growing community.
Interested in progress, the library board hired architect Rod Thomson to assist in developing a plan for a new library. After thorough study and review, the board, with the architect's help, has created a plan for new library facility that will provide a comfortable, welcoming and user-friendly atmosphere.
The plan consists of the construction of a new 18,000 sq.ft. facility to be built on property at Dix and Platt Streets. The new facility will help meet the community's library needs efficiently and effectively, while also being flexible to accommodate future growth and change.
The proposed plan represents more to Otsego than a larger library building. It represents enhanced educational, cultural and informational opportunities for families and individuals of all ages. It represents an opportunity to make a lasting investment in the educational, social and cultural well being for the entire greater Otsego Community. The new library represents our community's interest in progress as well as its commitment to all area residents.
